  2.                                             UPDATEMAKER READ ME

  4. UpdateMaker is a sample application that uses the AppleSearch Update Utilities.  It allows the user to create AppleSearch compatible Update files from a set of text files.

  6. To create an Update file that can be read by the AppleSearch client or compatible application:

  8. 1) Select "Create Update File…" from the File menu.
  9. 2) Type in the name of the Update file to be created.
  10. 3) Select a text file to be added to the Update file as an article.
  11. 4) Type in the name of the "source" for the article above.
  12. 5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all articles are added.  Click cancel in the "Add" dialog when doone.
